About New Songs 2016

No one can argue against the fact that 2016 was an interesting year. It was the year the Mayan calendar identified as the end of the world. When the apocalypse did not happen on the specified date, everyone suddenly turned serious to anticipate what was termed as the fiscal cliff in the US. Aside from those, new songs 2016 brought about and introduced to the listening public helped make the year that was truly memorable.

Most of the top new songs 2016 produced were from breakout music superstars. Before that year, for sure no one has heard about Carly Rae Jepsen, Fun., and Gotye. Those new recording artists rose to dominate the singles charts. The three acts, for instance, ruled most music charts for more than half of the year (combined). Now, they are all bigger stars than what they were supposed to be when they released their first songs.

Other notable artists like the Wanted, One Direction, and Psy have helped shape the year. New songs 2016 unveiled from those acts have become among the biggest hits of this generation. Who would ever forget the legendary ‘Gangnam Style,’ which took the entire world by storm? It made Psy a household name, endearing the South Korean culture more to people in all countries.

Of course, the more established powerhouse performers like Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Maroon 5 continued to broaden their respective empires. They endured all odds and continued to battle it all out for music supremacy. They have proven that they still have what it takes to get into the top spots of music charts.

In 2016, it seemed that there was always a new interesting song every week. It was a year full of never before seen and heard dance moves, singles, and music videos, all successful in gaining our full attention. There was an interesting mix of the new and the old. In the end, music followers stood to take the most gains.

There was truly no shortage of really memorable new songs 2016 introduced to us. By now, you can surely identify and enumerate a number of those tracks that really caught your fancy in the past year. It didn’t matter whether those songs that were retained in your mind were from new or old recording artists.

What about the genres that ruled the year? Mainstream music was interesting as well. It saw the new dawn of rock, alternative, country, and jazz, which were all thought to have already seen their better days in the last few years. Hip hop, R&B, and pop continued to showcase strength.

Dance music also proliferated.
You may agree that it is hard to put up a top 10, top 50, or top 100 songs from 2016. If you would prefer to list all important and noteworthy songs, you may find it hard to enumerate those all. We have tried our best to make a list of all the hits that shaped and ruled the past year. Here are songs 2016 brought in to our current playlists.
