Everyone can agree that 2012 was a really good year for the music landscape. It was a year full of surprises. Music lovers still have a hangover from the omnipresent pop hits like ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen to global viral sensations like ‘Gangnam Style’ by South Korea’s Psy. New songs 2017 are about to bring about are expected to be as promising, if not having more potential. This year is definitely shaping up to be another good year, if not actually better.

2017 is an exciting year because all of us have anticipations over our favorite recording artists and singers. What are to be expected in the coming months? Set the mood right with the new album release by Lady Gaga, who is aiming to get back to the party scene via her latest CD ‘Artpop.’ The teenybopper Miley Cyrus, as expected can turn more adult with her latest songs.

Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber are currently on the hot seat because of the controversies they generate. But for sure, the two are just preparing well to release sure-fire No. 1 hits in the coming months. And those may just be on the tip of the iceberg. New songs are sure to be released by Mariah Carey, Ne-Yo, and Beyoncé.

New songs 2017 is expected to bring about are highly anticipated. For sure, the music charts from all over the world will be as interesting as last year. It may be hard to predict the roster of break-through recording artists this year, but it is just certain that the hunger for fresh blood will still linger. Some music critics are confident that those who released good CDs and singles in 2012 will continue to do well this year.

What trends can be expected? For one, 1990s’ era R&B may continue to dominate the mainstream. Janet Jackson, R Kelly, and Boyz II Men may re-surface and prove they are still on top of the game. R&B influences seem to be very compelling.

Bashment can be the new R&B. Such music may continue to be party anthems especially for listeners who are at their 30s or younger. Alternative and rock music may continue to try their luck to capture music fans’ interest once again.

Pop music will surely remain active. American pop music can be saved by British and other producers, who may intend to set music charts back to their popular courses. This market segment is continuously thriving. Pop may remain to be highly associated and identified with mainstream.

This is the year that guitar music is expected to make its comeback. Many new songs 2017 may usher in could feature outstanding and engaging guitar accompaniments. Country music will still be carried over and represented by Taylor Swift, who has been proving to be a real musical and popular genius. Guitar music this year may also witness fusion between enjoyment and seriousness.

So far, new songs 2017 brings can be good music to one’s ears. It is worthwhile to know that this year, many singles and albums will try their luck to entice potential buyers and customers.
