“Alecia Pink Moore” was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and later raised in Philadelphia. Her parents “James Jim Moore” and “Judy Judith Moore” divorced when she was very young. As a child, all Pink wanted out of life was to become a singer, and she was driven by the music by Madonna, Janis Joplin, Billy Joel and Whitney Houston. Pink was a very unique teenager and went through phases as a skateboarder, hip-hopper and gymnast. She spent several years as a part of the club scene in Philadelphia, singing guests spots and performing for talent shows.
At the age of 13, she was asked by a local DJ to sing backup for his rap group “Schools of Thought”. A short time later, she was discovered by a record executive and joined a female R&B group “Choice”. When that did not work out, she signed with LaFace Records and began her solo career.
In spring 2000, she released her debut “Can’t Take Me Home”. She co-wrote many songs and watched it go multi-platinum by the year’s end. Her debut included the Top Ten Hit “There You Go” which was certified a gold single.
Her album “Try This” in 2003 also spawned huge hit singles. Pink’s songs are written to compliment and display her vocal range and her love to the pop side of R&B. in April 2006, she released her fourth studio album, “I’m Not Dead” and it went on to reach the Top Ten of the US charts and the top five in the UK.
The prolific singer-songwriter released another chart topping album in October 2008. “Fun House” reached number one in the UK and debuted at number 2 in the US. It also netted the star three Grammy nominations and five video Music Award nominations.
However, she is best known for her “Tough Girl” image and her distinctive style. She is rarely seen without brightly colored hair and at only 19, she already have thirteen tattoos.
She married motocross racer Carey Hart in 2006 after proposing to the sports star during a motocross race where she held up a sign asking if he would be her husband. The couple briefly split in 2008 but made a public announcement in 2009, that they were back together again.
The award-winning singer said that a three week photography class has made her “a far better photographer than anyone of them”.
“Pink” has a very bright career and is proficient in her field taking along both the relations of a singer and a mother. She is capable of doing things in a very good manner and is undoubtedly the apple of the teenager’s hearts.
She has made her name in the music industry in a short while and is famous for her songs today that the nation wants to listen to her songs as they are a source of an ultimate pleasure for the music lovers.
